You’re just angry you don’t get Kinder Surprise eggs in the land of unregulated weapons sales.

Hey now, I specified no fancy European stuff. So kit kat still stands as the best commoner candy bar.

That’s our FDA for you.
The BATFE is even worse. Contrary to your beliefs, our firearms are heavily regulated and options are quite limited. Buying a suppressor is a lit of paperwork and fees, while they can just purchase them in many places in the EU where private gun ownership is allowed.

The ATF barely scratches the surface of the gun issue in the US. I do recognize that some accessories are restricted (and for good reason!) but overall getting a gun in the US is quite easy. I could’ve boughten a gun for less than a thousand dollars last time I went to Nevada and I am:
NOT american.
NOT trained in handling firearms.
DO NOT have an american address
NOT above the age of 21
If I wanted to get a gun in Spain (a country I do not reside in, but I am a citizen of) I’d need:
A vault
An address
An I.D.
A physical examination and mental health test (basic)
Agree to be added to the national gun owner registry
Agree to arbitrary seaches by police officers
Carry a permit
Have a reason to own a weapon (be it sport or hunting)
The weapon must not be automatic or easily concealable.
Other than that, they sell shotguns at El Corte Ingles, so it’s not that hard
If I wanted to get a gun in Mexico (a country I reside in and I am a citizen of) I’d need
A reason to buy a gun
Agree to be added to the national gun owner registryAn ID
A physical examination and extensive mental health test
A gun handling course
Carry a permit
A bulletproof locking carrying case
A piece of land (property) in which I can use the gun ONLY INSIDE.
I’d need to get the gun from the Secretariat of National Defense and be subscribed to a gun owners program.
But lets not get political please...

You’d be wrong on your premise that you could buy a gun, at least legally. From there, it all falls apart because it’s based on many assumptions and requirements of other legal jurisdictions that do not apply.
There are also numerous laws they enforce regarding firearms that have passed at various levels of the government (federal, state, and local).

I was literally told by a clerk at a gun shop that I could buy most of the guns they had in stock.
They looked at us funny that we had all these questions and reactions.
What do you need to buy a gun in your state?

In mine? Fill out the paperwork, be at least 18 for long guns, 21 plus a 5-day waiting period for handguns (2 months for US citizens that are not state residents; effectively nobody buys handguns outside the state they reside in), attest that they are not prohibited (a felony to lie about this), and pass a background check. All sales must be facilitated through a federal firearms license holder.
The people at that gun shop were idiots and likely not licensed to do a transfer/sale.

I think the waiting period is a good measure to stop many types of murders.

It might stop ones involving handguns.
Mind you, just with items around my house I could come up with at least 50 different ways to murder someone without resorting to a firearm...
